About Samantha Parker
Hello and welcome! My name is Samantha, here is a bit about myself. I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and have been exposed to the T.V. and media industries from an early age. I have always had an interest in film and photography: In my early teens, I started shooting for local bands and artists and soon gained a good reputation among my peers. While doing photography for the high school yearbook, I realized that this was my calling.
A graduate from Grant MacEwan University in 2010 with a Design Studies Major in Photography. I had access to world-class facilities, equipment, and faculty, which prepared me for the exciting journey of professional photography. This includes processing and developing 35 mm and 4x5 film. In addition to photos, I gained experience shooting and editing videos. I strive for excellence and continuous improvement by continually seeking feedback from successful photographers who have many years of experience. I constantly do research and learn about the profession to keep improving my work.
I am based out of Edmonton but I have traveled to 4 continents. Each photograph I take captures a piece of the beautiful world around us and allows every memory to be shared. I have travelled on this amazing world journey across Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. As I continue to travel the globe, I will add more and more beautiful shots to my already unique collection of photos. SC Parker Photography empowers people and businesses with a custom photography experience. My name is Samantha Parker, and I offer corporate photography for businesses, lifestyle photography, professional headshots, and women empowerment photography sessions.
My extensive travel experience opened my eyes to how photography can transform lives and help people gain confidence and courage in their everyday lives. In photography, it’s the experience that matters. I make every photo shoot a unique experience for my clients by asking specific questions to help them connect their photos to their goals and personalities. During each session, I put people at ease, educate them on how to get the best results and create a carefree environment where people can laugh and have fun. They leave feeling like rock stars and get great photos because they’re feeling relaxed, natural, and confident.
My Key to Success: Persistence and Kindness. Never give up or quit and always aim for happiness for yourself and others.
Goals: My short-term goal is to grow my business to the point that I can hire employees, and in the future, I would like to incorporate travel and charity into the business by offering photography around the world for people who don’t have access to that kind of service.
Accomplishments: I have an associate degree in design studies with a major in photography, graduated early, setting out a goal of travelling the world and making it to 11 countries in the first 5 years, moving to Taiwan by myself for 9 months, and becoming dive certified.
Interests: Meditation, working out, running, snowboarding, surfing, and adventures like ziplining, scuba, snorkelling. I also love music of any kind, whether it’s playing guitar listening to music or singing.
Skills: Photography, videography, editing, Photoshop, fluent in English, a little Mandarin and intermediate in Spanish. Plus, I can count to ten in five different languages! Adapting to my surroundings is another great skill that helps me in business and personal life.
Ideal Referral: A woman aged 40-55 who could use an uplift in her life. These are people I can create beautiful and candid photos for, showing them how they are truly beautiful from the inside out. Another great referral is a business that would like custom photos instead of stock photos.
